SAVANNAH Guthrie has cut down her schedule on Today months after her mother Nancy’s tragic abduction.
Sources exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Savannah no longer works on Fridays as she copes with the devastating family tragedy.
However, the change is “not permanent,” the insider explained.
Lead anchor Savannah is so beloved at Today, “no one says no to her,” the insider added.
“Especially after what happened with her mother.”
Savannah was off the air on October 2, and out of office every Friday in September.
However, she made an exception and reported from the Freedom Tower on September 11.
She also took time off during the summer, for both personal and professional reasons.
She took a two-week summer break before Labor Day, returning to her seat on September 8.
The multi-talented host also took time off in July to tape upcoming game show Wordle.
Today host Laura Jarrett has often filled in for Savannah, sitting opposite anchor Craig Melvin.
Savannah’s need for time away is completely understandable after her mother Nancy was abducted earlier this year.
