MEGA STORM Super typhoon forces one million to evacuate Philippines as families flee storm that has already claimed two victims

  • November 10, 2025

A SUPER typhoon is on course to rip through the Philippines with over one million people already been forced to evacuate their homes.

Typhoon Fung-wong has already claimed two victims in deadly floods before the Category 4 storm even made landfall on the east coast.

The terrifying storm is feared to have a radius spanning nearly the whole of the Philippines.

High winds and heavy rain are already being experienced across large swathes of the Southeast Asian nation.

Some parts of the country have already recorded gusts of up to 140mph.

This has prompted mass evacuation orders as well as extra safety precautions across the archipelago nation.

In Aurora, where the eye of the storm is expected to blast through, government worker Aries Ora has been boarding up his home in Dipaculao town.

Steel sheets and wooden boards can be seen on dozens of homes in the area as they prepare for the worse in the coming hours.

Elsewhere, residents tied down their houses with ropes and placed heavy weights on their roofs.

Pictures show the devastation already forming due to the floods.

Homes collapsed under the weight of the lashing rain with trees being uprooted due to the blistering winds.

Dozens of villages were transformed into swamps as the mixture of the floodwater and mud created a horror deluge.

Images even showed residents being forced to transport their livestock, mainly pigs, to safety on boats.

It comes as two people have already died due to the horror weather conditions.

The body of a 64-year-old woman attempting to evacuate had been pulled from under debris and fallen trees overnight.

Rescuer Juniel Tagarino in Catbalogan City said: “The wind was so strong and the rain was heavy.

“According to her family members, she might have forgotten something and went back inside her house.”

A second local drowned in a flash flood on Catanduanes island.

Schools and government offices have been ordered to close on Monday across the main island of Luzon, including the capital Manila.

Airports have also been placed on lockdown with nearly 300 flights already being cancelled.

Typhoon Fung-wong comes as the country continues to reel from a previous deadly typhoon which made landfall earlier this week.

Storm Kalmaegi sent floodwaters rushing through the towns and cities of Cebu and Negros islands.

It killed at least 224 people and left 109 missing, according to government figures.

Search and rescue efforts in Cebu were suspended on Saturday due to safety concerns over the Fung-wong super typhoon.

More than 30 million people could be exposed to hazards posed by Fung-wong, the Office of Civil Defence said.

It comes just weeks a monster super typhoon with 137mph winds slammed into the Philippines.
