Amit Shah Attacks AAP Govt In Punjab, Says Those Raising Voices Against Drug Menace Not Safe

  • October 21, 2026

Shah criticised the AAP government for its handling of the escalating drug problem in Punjab. He claimed that under the Bhagwant Mann administration, drug trafficking has intensified, endangering the youth.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday attacked the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab over the growing drug menace in the state. He alleged that the rising audacity of drug traffickers has raised serious questions about the functioning of the Punjab government.

Terming the AAP government as ‘AAPda’ (disaster) government, the Union Minister said that the youth of the state are falling prey to drugs under their leadership and alleged that those raising voices are not safe.

Shah’s remarks came amid his daylong visit to Punjab, where he met the family members of those who died in incidents linked to the state’s drug menace.

“Today, at the residence of the family of Late Bikramjit Singh ji, who lost his life for raising his voice against the unchecked drug trade in Punjab under the AAP government, I met them in Gurdaspur and expressed my condolences. May God grant them the strength to bear this sorrow,” Shah said in a post on X.

“The growing drug menace in Punjab and the rising audacity of drug traffickers have raised serious questions about the functioning of the AAP government. Under the Bhagwant Mann-led government, Punjab’s youth are falling prey to drugs, while those who raise their voices against the menace are themselves not safe,” the Union Minister added.

“We are committed to making Punjab, and the entire country, drug-free and safeguarding the future of our youth,” he further said.

Shah said Bikramjit lost his life for raising his voice against the rampant drug trade in Punjab under the ‘AAPda’ government.
