Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people on Ramzan, wishing peace and togetherness. Akhilesh Yadav, Kiren Rijiju, S Jaishankar and Priyanka Gandhi also extended greetings on X. The holy month begins on February 19 after the crescent moon sighting, with Muslims set to observe the first Roza on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his wishes to people on the start of the holy month of Ramzan. Taking to X PM Modi said, “Ramzan Mubarak! May this auspicious month further the spirit of togetherness in our society. May there be peace and prosperity everywhere,” the post read.

As the crescent moon has been sighted today, the first roza (fasting) will be observed on Thursday, 19 February. During Ramadan, it is recommended to perform Taraweeh prayers, which are special night prayers, in addition to the five daily prayers.
