The Delhi Police’s social media monitoring team is maintaining constant surveillance over online platforms to identify and flag objectionable content.
Delhi Police has initiated a crackdown on offensive social media posts targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi that were allegedly shared during the Jantar Mantar protest and the subsequent violence in the national capital, sources in the police said.
According to sources, Delhi Police has issued notices to several social media platforms directing them to remove posts and videos containing abusive language against the Prime Minister.
The action comes after police identified multiple posts uploaded during the protests and the violence that allegedly contained offensive remarks directed at the prime minister.
Sources said Delhi Police is continuously monitoring various social media platforms to identify such content. Upon detecting offensive posts, notices are being sent to the respective platforms, asking them to take down the content in accordance with the law.
