The case, registered on December 6, 2025, by Union Bank of India, alleges criminal conspiracy and cheating. Jai Anmol was questioned about loans worth Rs 5,572 crore taken by the company from multiple banks, including Union Bank, which were later declared non-performing assets.
Jai Anmol Anil Ambani, son of industrialist Anil Ambani, was questioned for nearly six and a half hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation in Delhi on Friday in connection with a Rs 228 crore bank fraud case linked to Reliance Home Finance Ltd.
According to officials, Jai Anmol Ambani appeared before the investigating officer at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi after being summoned as part of the ongoing probe. He was examined for around 6.5 hours during the questioning.
Sources said the agency has asked him to appear again before the investigating officer on Saturday for further questioning.
CASE REGISTERED ON UNION BANK COMPLAINT
The CBI registered the case on December 6, 2025, against Reliance Home Finance Ltd., Jai Anmol Ambani, former CEO and whole-time director Ravindra Sudhalkar, along with unknown persons and unidentified public servants.
The case was filed following a complaint by Union Bank of India, which alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal misconduct that resulted in a wrongful loss of Rs 228.06 crore to the bank, which was then Andhra Bank.
LOAN ACCOUNT LATER CLASSIFIED AS FRAUD
Investigators said the loan account of Reliance Home Finance Ltd. was declared a non-performing asset on September 30, 2019.
The account was later classified as fraud on October 10, 2024, by Union Bank of India.
