Cyclone Ditwah weakened to a low-pressure area over North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Chennai faces a yellow alert with rain likely all week, featuring partly cloudy skies, showers, thunderstorms, and lightning.

Cyclone Ditwah has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and surrounding regions. However, Chennai residents are still facing its influence. The entire state of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, is currently on a yellow alert for two days. This means the city will experience more rain. However, the city saw a bit clearer sky after three days, allowing sunshine to appear.
According to the IMD, the depression, which is the remnant of Cyclonic Storm Ditwah, located over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Tamil Nadu–Puducherry coasts, has moved slowly in a southwestward direction. By 0530 hrs IST on 3 December 2025, it had weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and surrounding regions.
