Cristiano Ronaldo ended his long wait for a major title with Al Nassr and scored twice to lead his team to the Saudi Pro League title, defeating Damac FC 4-1 in the final. This was a major achievement for Al Nassr as it was the team’s first league title since 2019. Ronaldo scored twice in the second half and gave his team a decisive lead. Al Nassr was in control of the match from the start and was leading 2-0, courtesy of goals from Sadio Mane and Kingsley Coman. However, a penalty from Morlaye Sylla allowed Damac back into the contest. Ronaldo then showed vintage play with his trademark free kick to extend Al Nassr’s lead, and later added another late strike from close range to seal the game. The veteran was visibly emotional after he was substituted at the end, and received a standing ovation from the fans as Al Nassr celebrated the historic win.
Following the win, Ronaldo took to social media and posted a video with the caption, “It means so much to us.” It also included the words “Yalla Nassr,” which, when translated from Arabic, means “Come on, Al Nassr!”

First Major Trophy In 7 Years
The win ended Ronaldo’s long wait for a major trophy. Recently, when Al Nassr suffered a 1-0 defeat to Gamba Osaka, Ronaldo looked visibly emotional. Since joining Al Nassr, he missed a staggering 14 official trophies, including three Saudi Pro League titles, four King’s Cups, four Saudi Super Cups and three continental competitions. He made the final five times, in the Arab Club Cup, the King’s Cup, two Saudi Super Cups and the AFC Champions League Two final, but ended up on the losing side.
