A series of desperate messages sent by former model and actor Twisha Sharma in the days before her death forms the backbone of the CBI’s chargesheet against her husband and mother-in-law, officials said.
In one message to her sister-in-law, Sharma allegedly wrote that her husband, Samarth Singh, had crossed “all limits” and that she felt suffocated. “I will find a way to vanish,” she wrote three days before her death.
The CBI on Monday filed a chargesheet against Samarth Singh and his mother, Giribala Singh, a retired district judge, accusing them of subjecting Sharma to severe mental cruelty during the couple’s six-month marriage.

DESPERATE MESSAGES BEFORE DEATH
According to the 31-page chargesheet, Sharma told her mother five days before her death that her in-laws were allegedly trying to portray her as mentally unstable.
She asked her family to take her away quietly and avoid an argument with her in-laws, the agency said.
Two days later, Sharma allegedly sent a message to her sister-in-law, Rashi Abrol, saying she felt suffocated and wanted to disappear.
The CBI has cited the messages as evidence of Sharma’s deteriorating mental condition and the alleged psychological harm inflicted on her by her husband and mother-in-law.
CBI ALLEGES PATTERN OF MENTAL CRUELTY
The chargesheet details what the agency described as sustained psychological abuse during Sharma’s marriage.
Based on a behavioural analysis and forensic psychological assessment of her diaries, CCTV footage and digital evidence, the CBI said Sharma experienced “hopelessness, enduring psychological harm” and a complete lack of support.
The agency alleged that Samarth regularly made derogatory remarks about Sharma and repeatedly questioned her character over her past relationships, despite her having discussed them with him before their marriage.
The CBI further alleged that Giribala encouraged her son’s behaviour and defended him whenever Sharma complained about the mistreatment.
Among the incidents cited by investigators were Samarth’s alleged offensive remarks after Sharma told him she was pregnant. He was also accused of mocking her as she suffered heavy bleeding following the termination of the pregnancy.
The agency claimed that the mother and son pressured Sharma to transfer Rs 20 lakh from her demat savings to Samarth’s account. The alleged harassment continued even while she was caring for her father after he suffered a heart attack in March 2026.
