UKRAINE has unleashed a wave of lethal tactics as it faces Russia on the battlefield, with Vladimir Putin’s troops suffering unprecedented losses.
The desperate tyrant has held onto power through “sham” elections – used as evidence of public support to continue his meat grinder war.
But as Russian commanders call up 800,000 additional troops, Ukraine has developed a series of lethal tactics to meet them on the front line.
In the latest edition of Battle Plans Exposed, former intelligence officer Philip Ingram breaks down the astonishing Ukrainian operations crippling Russia.
From the collapse of Moscow’s Donetsk strategy to Kyiv’s defensive buildup along the Belarus border and deep-strike drone campaign, Ingram reveals how Kyiv‘s resilience could shift victory in their favour.
Ingram said: “Ukraine has developed an unseen level of lethality in combat.
“There are reports of a 60 per cent fatality rate on the Russian side.
“A new call up or draft escalation in late autumn seems likely, but Russia’s capability to train, equip, feed, mobilise and integrate a new wave of recruits is under question on the ground.”
Kyiv is rapidly developing long-range and ballistic missiles to overwhelm Russia’s air defences with unrelenting attacks.
Volodymyr Zelensky said his forces unleashed the largest attack on Moscow since the start of war on Sunday – on the final day of Russia’s election.
Russian officials were left reeling after 450 drones swarmed the capital followed by a volley of state-of-the-art missiles.
The strikes left two dead, with gaping craters in apartment blocks and huge plumes of smoke filling the sky.
Ingram said: “What we’re seeing here is a devastating long range strike campaign catching the Russian Aerospace Forces entirely off guard.”
Just last week Ukrainian long range drones hit Russia’s military airfield at Rostov on Don and an oil refinery in Yaroslavl.
The blitz sparked a series of explosions which left an An-12 aircraft, two An-26s and three left 12 transport plane and three military helicopters completely destroyed.
Ingram said: “Kyiv is systematically wiping out Moscow’s air defence radar and aviation assets across the southern theatre before they can even get off the ground.
“This is crippling Putin’s logistics and creating vital breathing room for his frontline troops.”
He also said Ukraine were using SAS-style strikes to hit Russian airpower.
Ingram said: “What we’re witnessing is a 21st century evolution of David Stirling’s SAS airfield raids in North Africa back in 1942, a handful of men in armed jeeps wrecking hundreds of axis planes on the tarmac, forcing Rommel to pull vital troops off the frontline to guard his rear airfields.
“Ukraine is doing exactly the same thing today, not with jeeps but with long range strike drones by crushing Russian transport planes and fighters on the ground.”
For more than a year, Moscow’s strategic goal in Donetsk has been to surround the fortress belt.
This is the chain of heavily fortified cities including Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Zhukovsky and Kostiantynivka.
Unable to break through directly, Russian generals planned a massive pincer movement to bypass the cities – swinging round from the south down through the Lyman Salient.
“That plan has completely collapsed”, Ingram said.
As part of what it calls Operation Vivaldi, Ukraine cut Russian supply lines, blew up fuel depots and pushed Moscow’s logistics back across the border into the Voronezh Oblast.
Ingram explained: “This isn’t just a minor tactical win. It’s a strategic wrecking ball.
“Ukraine has completely severed the northern pincer of that grand encirclement plan.
“Russian commanders are still throwing meat wave attacks at the fortress belt from the south.
“But without that northern arm to close the trap, Moscow simply burning through men and armor for no strategic gain.”
He also said Ukraine were taking down Russian drones by using interceptors.
Describing dramatic footage of a UAV take-down, he said: “A high speed interceptor drone locks on and detonates right alongside it, triggering a violent mid-air explosion.
“This… is how Ukraine is preserving its multi-million dollar Western missile stockpiles, whilst neutralising Moscow’s relentless aerial swarms.”
Russia has suffered catastrophic losses in its bid to capture territory whilst trying to keep pressure on the rest of the front line.
Ingram said: “It’s costing Russians over 1200 troops a day. And we’ve seen on some days 2000 troops a day.
“That’s 35,000 to 42,000 troops each month.”
A Putin burns through his army, Russian generals have reportedly asked for an additional 800,000 troops.
But even at the lowest rate of fatalities on the front line, this new call up will be taken out within two years.
Ingram said: “Putin has put a timeline of the whole of the Donetsk Oblast being captured by the 31st of December, 2026. It’s not going to happen.
“And when the Ukrainians hold him back for that one more cycle, what he’s going to do after that is anybody’s guess.”
The cornered despot is also relying on Trojan horse-style tactics to save its crumbling war machine, Ingram said.
He detailed one example where a Russian supply vehicle was painted as a civilian car in a desperate bid to have it blend in with its surroundings.
Moscow is also hiding its critical vessels thousands of kilometres away from the frontline – proving that no target is safe from Ukraine’s cutting-edge UAVs.
Ingram showed how Russia warships were being protected with drone netting as far as the Caspian Sea by Dagestan – roughly 1,000km away from Ukraine.
Meanwhile the Ukrainian military is expanding its defensive networks.
Zelensky’s troops have cut vast swathes of forest to constructing multi-layered fortification lines to blunt armoured assaults and covert infiltration forces.
Ingram said: “There is no immediate threat of a Russian ground invasion towards Kyiv or western Ukraine from the north right now.
“What we’re seeing is classic forward planning by Kyiv.”
Ingram also showed how local defiance in Ukraine was still resisting Russian oppression.
In one clip, an elderly Ukrainian woman was seen disarming a Russian drone with her bare hands by casually removing its fiber optic cable.
Ingram said: “While it shows breathtaking individual defiance, it also reveals a fascinating technical detail – Russia is increasingly relying on tethered fiber optic guided drones to beat Ukrainian signal jamming.”
As part of Operation Vivaldi, Ukraine is also airlifting so-called kamikaze ground robots and dropping them behind enemy lines on the battlefield for the first time.
