Virat Kohli added another feather to his already illustrious career, going past Sachin Tendulkar in a rare list during the first ODI against the Stadium at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. Kohli came at the wicket after the fall of Rohit Sharma and looked in sublime form from the word go. He smoked six boundaries within a span of a few deliveries to show how good a form he’s in. The wicket of Rohit Sharma put some pressure on India in a chase of 200, but Kohli’s fluent innings turned the pendulum back in favour of India.

Virat Kohli Scripts History

Kohli needed just 25 runs to become the fastest batsman to reach 28000 runs, and the first to do it in less than 630 innings, and he reached the landmark with a thumping boundary off Adithya Ashok on his 19th delivery. He became the third player, after Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara, to score 28000 or more runs in international cricket. Tendulkar achieved the feat in 644th innings while Sangakkara took 666 innings to score 28000 runs. Kohli, so far, has played 624 innings, scoring 28000+ runs, including 84 centuries.
