The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a man wanted in a cow slaughter case who had been absconding for a long time and carried a reward of Rs50,000 on his arrest, officials said.
The accused, identified as Arif Hussain, son of Najakat Hussain, was arrested from Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh following a sustained search operation by the STF.
According to officials, Hussain had been on the run for a considerable period, prompting police to announce a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest.
STF teams had been actively tracking the accused in connection with the case before finally apprehending him in Chandauli, officials said.
