Telangana’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudarshan Reddy released the draft electoral rolls on Monday, following completion of the enumeration phase under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The exercise has resulted in the deletion of around 73 lakh electors from the state’s voter list.

Of the 3,38,26,448 electors recorded as on June 10, 2026, only 2,64,87,213 (78.30%) had submitted their enumeration forms by August 10. These names now appear in the draft list released on Monday.

The remaining forms could not be collected due to what officials classify as ASDD cases- Absent, Shifted, Duplication and Death. Among the uncollected forms, 9,22,229 electors (2.73%) were deceased, 57,46,803 (16.99%) had permanently shifted, were absent, or fell under other categories, and 6,70,203 (1.98%) were found enrolled at multiple places in the electoral roll.

Among those retained in the draft list, the CEO said 92 lakh electors will receive notices from Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), delivered through Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Of these, 60 lakh notices concern anomalies like discrepancies such as mismatches in the elector’s name or a family member’s name, or inconsistencies in age. Officials have identified 11 distinct categories of such anomalies, including logical discrepancies in name, father’s name, age gaps between siblings, and age differences with parents. The remaining 32 lakh notices concern electors who could not be mapped to the 2002 rolls.

Hyderabad recorded the highest number of deletions among all districts, with 19,41,444 names removed from its voter list. Of these, 1,56,392 were marked deceased, 2,99,850 were untraceable, 13,45,333 had permanently shifted, 99,264 were already enrolled elsewhere, and 40,605 were deleted for other reasons.

Within Hyderabad’s constituencies, Malakpet saw the highest number of deletions at 1,47,779, followed by Musheerabad with 1,40,070. Charminar recorded the fewest deletions at 94,174.
