Clips of young Pakistanis cheering the CJP, a satirical, youth-led protest movement, drew a sharp comeback from India — Indian Gen Z, the MEA said, have been asking Pakistan to end cross-border terror for years.

The videos came from across the border — young Pakistanis cheering on India’s Cockroach Janata Party protesters. India responded with a fact and some advice. “We are all aware that Pakistan has been sponsoring cross-border terrorism against India for several decades,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Tuesday, before flipping the moment on its head: “The people of India, including Gen Z, have been demanding that Pakistan end its state-sponsored cross-border terrorism. We hope their counterparts are taking due note.”
Further to these remarks, the MEA also slammed Pakistan for holding a “so-called” election. “We have seen reports about the so-called elections in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. India’s position on this issue has been clear and consistent, and you are all well aware of it. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are Union Territories, and their entire territory is an integral and inalienable part of India,” the MEA said, adding that “These whitewash elections being held there are an attempt by Pakistan to hide its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and its violation of the human rights of the people there. As we have said before, the protests underway there are the result of decades of systematic economic exploitation, the denial of fundamental rights, and administrative repression in Pakistan.”
The first round of voting was held on July 27 across 13 seats in the Mirpur Division. It has been a messy start — allegations of rigging, a boycott call from the Joint Awami Action Committee, and a heavy security presence, with clashes and the deaths of political workers reported. Jaiswal said the unrest in PoJK is simply what happens when a region is squeezed economically and denied basic rights.
