Summerville Shooting: Multiple Victims Near Cane Bay Boulevard Publix, Suspect Flees Toward Elementary School

At least three people were reportedly injured in a shooting near a Publix in Cane Bay Boulevard, Summerville, South Carolina, before the suspect fled toward a nearby elementary school.

Multiple people were injured in a shooting Thursday night in the Cane Bay community near a Publix and McDonald’s in Summerville, South Carolina, according to emergency dispatch reports and local authorities.

Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis told News 2 that deputies were responding to the Publix, where the shooting reportedly occurred inside the store and involved multiple individuals.

Authorities are reportedly responding to 1724 State Road, where at least three victims suffered gunshot wounds, including one person found in the Publix parking lot with injuries to the legs and another victim suffering gunshot wounds to the arm and leg near the McDonald’s. A third victim was also located in the Publix parking lot.

The suspected shooter reportedly fled the scene on foot toward a nearby elementary school as law enforcement units responded to the area.
