Amidst the chaos, Shadab Momin, a local social media content creator dressed as Spider-Man, emerged as a hero by assisting stranded commuters and guiding them through flooded streets.

After days of heavy rainfall across Maharashtra, several parts of the state were left waterlogged, disrupting traffic and affecting daily life. Thane was no exception, with Bhiwandi witnessing torrential rain over the past four days, bringing normal life to a standstill. Residents grappled with severe traffic congestion, stranded vehicles, and flooded roads. Amid the chaos, a man dressed as ‘Spider-Man’ emerged as an unlikely hero, helping commuters navigate the waterlogged streets.
The man, Shadab Momin, a resident of Bhiwandi in Thane district, is a social media content creator known for posting videos in his “Spider-Man” avatar.
In videos that have now gone viral, Momin can be seen directing traffic, guiding commuters through flooded roads, warning motorists about deep potholes, and pushing stranded two-wheelers and four-wheelers to safety. His selfless efforts have earned widespread praise from netizens.
“It feels very good. Helping people is my duty, and I am doing it in real life as well. There is a lot of difficulty here, and this is actually the responsibility of the municipal authorities, but they have not done anything about it so far,” he told IANS.
Who is Shadab Momin?
Momin identifies himself as a comedian on Instagram and enjoys a significant social media following. He said his intention was not only to help residents but also to draw attention to the city’s persistent civic issues.
In one of his viral videos, he questioned why roads remain waterlogged after every spell of rain, despite crores of rupees being spent annually on road repairs and infrastructure development.
