In the CCTV footage, the specially-abled woman was seen running in a deserted road for her life as the bike-borne men chased her at night.

In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old specially-abled woman was allegedly raped on a fairly deserted road, at a kilometre distance from the residences of top police personnel in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur, according to a report.
The woman was chased by unidentified bike-borne men as she ran for her life. The sequence of events was caught on CCTV.
The incident took place on Monday when the victim was on her way back home on foot from her uncle’s residence. This was a distance of hardly a kilometre. A man on the bike took the woman to a deserted place, where the crime took place, India Today reported.
The CCTV camera at the Superintendent of Police’s residence showed the woman running while looking behind on the road and the unknown men chasing her on around four motorbikes.
As she did not return home, her family members started searching for her. She was found in the bushes near a police post, lying unconscious, the report said.
After she regained consciousness, she alleged that she had been gang-raped by those men.
“A specially-abled woman was returning home from her maternal uncle’s house. On the way, she was made to sit by a man on his bike. She was taken to a deserted spot, where she was raped,” ASP Vishal Pandey was quoted as saying in the report.
The victim was taken for medical examination and was hospitalised.
Based on her statement, the cops registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused men.
