A video of the hotel’s deplorable condition is circulating widely on X. According to a report by The Sun, the guest was a compulsive online gamer who had booked a stay at the accommodation in Changchun for two years. As per the housekeeping staff, he hardly came out of the room.

The bathroom was equally appalling, with hundreds of sodden toilet paper and discarded items scattered on the floor, covering the lavatory and the washbasin. Adding to the disgusting visuals was the fact that a thick layer of grime also accumulated everywhere.

The extensive clean-up process, followed by disinfecting the room, took three days, claimed The Sun. Even then, the hotel management revealed that there was visible damage, which would require in-depth renovation work before the room is reopened to guests. The hotel grants stays to Esports players, equipped with computer gaming equipment, fast internet and dedicated gaming chairs.
