Saurav Das’s Google jibe at Kangana Ranaut over useless, unemployed remarks

  • July 31, 2026

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das hit back after Kangana Ranaut called him useless and questioned his student claim. Their exchange followed the NEET protest row and widened the political sparring around the agitation.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurav Das on Wednesday hit back at BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut after she mocked his age and described him as a “useless and unemployed” person in a series of social media posts following the recent NEET paper leak protests.

Responding to Ranaut’s remarks, Das dismissed her claims about his background, saying she had relied on incorrect information available online. He clarified that he is 27 years old, not 28, and said he has never claimed to be an active student. “Even Google is giving Kangana incorrect information about me. I’m 27, not 28, and I am not a student. I am a journalist. I never claimed to be an active student,” Das told news agency ANI.

He added that learning should not be confined to educational institutions. “I am a student of life. Regardless of one’s age, one should remain a student of life. If one isn’t a student of life, wisdom won’t come. Kangana, too, should learn how to become a student of life,” he said.

Das’s remarks came after Ranaut, the Lok Sabha MP from Mandi, criticised Das in a series of Instagram Stories while reacting to the student-led protests over the alleged NEET paper leak.

Referring to Das, Ranaut wrote that she had searched for him online and questioned his claim of being a student. “Googled this student and he is 28. How he claims himself to be a student I have no clue,” she wrote.

The BJP MP contrasted Das’s public profile with her own achievements, saying that while she had entered politics only two years ago, she had spent two decades in public life and had already won two National Awards by the time she was his age.

In another post, she took a sharper swipe at Das, writing, “You are not a student; you are simply useless. Let’s start with learning some skill. It’s a good place to start.”

Ranaut also strongly criticised the conduct of some participants in the recent anti-NEET protests, alleging that abusive and obscene language had been used against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother.

“We too have participated in student protests. But what kind of students are these, and what kind of obscene language are they using? Our 75-year-old Prime Minister was targeted, and filthy abuse was hurled at his late mother. As a society, this is completely unacceptable to us,” she said.
