A 38-year-old man armed with a loaded pistol and ammunition was arrested near US President Donald Trump’s California golf course after allegedly photographing security arrangements just days before a Republican National Committee fundraiser at the venue. Authorities recovered a cache of weapons, body armour and notebooks containing what “concerning statements” during a search of his home, they said.

1. Arrested Days Before Trump’s Visit
Jeanine John Taele, 38, was arrested at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, just two days before Donald Trump was due to attend a Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at the property.
2. Suspect Was Allegedly Monitoring Security
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Jeanine John Taele was seen taking photographs and recording videos of security preparations around the golf course before he was stopped by deputies.
3. Gun, Ammunition Found
Deputies recovered a loaded pistol from Jeanine John Taele’s vehicle and found a 16-round magazine loaded with ammunition in his pocket during the arrest.
4. Search Of Home Uncovered More Weapons
A search of Jeanine John Taele’s home in Downey the following day led investigators to recover multiple firearms, magazines, ammunition, body armour and notebooks containing what authorities described as “concerning statements.”
5. Facing Multiple Criminal Charges
Jeanine John Taele has been charged with several felony offences, including second-degree robbery, receiving a large-capacity magazine and possession of a short-barrelled rifle or shotgun. He also faces a misdemeanour charge of carrying a concealed firearm inside a vehicle. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
