Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has claimed to have unearthed what he calls the “biggest scam” in the country’s history. He suggested that multiple pillars of the state machinery, including judges and politicians, were part of it.

Naqvi, who is known to be close to Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshall Asim Munir, asserted that action would be taken against “every person” responsible. “I don’t think there has ever been such a massive scam in the history of Pakistan, where judges, bureaucrats, politicians and bankers were all involved,” he told reporters.
“For 21 years, bribes were paid, and people kept taking it. We will go after each and every person responsible,” he added.
Naqvi’s ‘Cockroach’ Remark
Just a few days back, the minister said Pakistan’s system of governance had “collapse” and that it was no longer capable of addressing its political and economic challenges. He suggested that Pakistan’s “cockroaches” could overturn the country if they united.
“The system we are living under has collapsed whether you agree or not. Problems cannot be solved through it. If this system continues, we will still be sitting here 10 years from now discussing the same issues,” he had said.
The remarks were seen as a reference to the Gen-Z protests in India led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over the paper leak controversy linked to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026.
Power Shake-Up Soon?
According to experts, Naqvi’s back-to-back attacks against his own government –– led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif –– points to a wider internal conflict. The minister, who is also the chief of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has long harboured dreams of being the premier.
