The Delhi constable was reportedly on the run after allegedly murdering his wife on her birthday. He had dumped her body by a roadside in East Delhi.

The Delhi police constable who had fled after killing his wife on her birthday and after dumping her injured on a roadside in East Delhi– had reportedly died by suicide. The cop who was recently posted with the Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) in East Delhi, Manish Bhati, took his life by shooting himself with his service pistol, as per PTI. According to an officer, the body of the cop was found lying behind a five-star hotel in Mayur Vihar. A police officer said a team got information at 6 PM about a body lying behind a hotel.
“The team immediately rushed to the spot and found Bhati’s body. The initial investigation suggested that he shot himself. Further investigation into the matter is underway,” the officer told PTI.
Bhati, a 2022-batch Delhi Police constable, had been on the run since Monday, July 13, after allegedly shooting his 30-year-old wife, Priyanka, in the chest during an argument. It was a delivery executive who had spotted the woman on the roadside. She was then rushed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital; however, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The police had reportedly formed five teams and raided places across Delhi-NCR and parts of Haryana to trace the accused cop. As per PTI, searches were conducted in several major NCR cities, like Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad and several locations in Haryana.
According to the investigators, the couple had left their New Vinod Nagar residence together on a two-wheeler in the early hours of Monday after an argument.
