DONALD Trump has declared he is “happy” Prince Harry and Meghan have left the US for the UK, saying he was “not a fan”.
The President accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of treating the Royal Family with “great disrespect”.
He even said that if he were a member of the Royal Family, he “would not have taken them back”.
Asked at the White House about Harry and Meghan’s departure, Trump said: “I’m happy about it. I was not a fan.
“I had a very good relationship with the Queen. Really good. I got to know her very well. A really good relationship with King Charles.
“I knew him as Prince Charles and King Charles. I’ve known him for a long time. He’s great, great guy.
“And I thought they treated the Royal Family with great disrespect. I didn’t like it.
“I didn’t like the way she acted. I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the Queen, to King Charles.
“I wouldn’t have taken them back. If I were in the royal family I would not have taken him back.”
It comes after The Sun revealed in a World Exclusive that Harry and Meghan will make a shock return to the UK for an “extended period”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, returned to Britain last week.
The family are now said to be settling into life in the UK after six years living in the US.
The Cotswolds has been suggested as the most likely destination, with the couple understood to have already found a new home there.
The pair quit the monarchy six years ago and moved to the US, where they have since criticised members of the Royal Family and the institution.
They will remain non-working royals despite their return to Britain.
The Sussexes also reunited with King Charles last month in a major thawing of relations between father and son.
But their move has left a string of questions unanswered, including how long they will stay and where exactly they will live.
