THE Duchess of Sussex’s deal to star in Netflix smash-hit series The Gentlemen is worth more than £1million.
We revealed yesterday that Meghan was in advanced talks for a major role in the gangster comedy-drama by Guy Ritchie.
But last night a journalist claimed the deal was off.
Tina Brown claimed on X: “I learned this morning the casting of Meghan in The Gentlemen has been withdrawn.
“The backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable. This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the UK.”
Former Tatler and Vanity Fair editor Tina is regarded as well connected in US showbiz circles.
Meanwhile, sources have told The Sun on Sunday that former Suits actress Meghan will be raking in a seven-figure sum if the contract is finalised.
And fans are excited she could potentially be attending the London premiere of the show’s second series on September 2, when she and Prince Harry are expected to be in the UK.
A source said: “Meghan will be getting at least £1million for a role on The Gentlemen, perhaps even more.
Signing her would be a major coup for the show’s bosses and it would absolutely be worth parting with a sizeable fee.”
