Hundreds of students and activists protested at Mumbai’s Chaityabhoomi over alleged NEET irregularities in solidarity with the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march, while police said the demonstration was held without permission and claimed hundreds of protesters were detained.

Hundreds of students and activists gathered at Chaityabhoomi, the cremation place of Dr B R Ambedkar in Dadar, on Monday to protest against the Centre over alleged NEET irregularities, with organisers claiming around 200 people were detained by Mumbai Police, which said the protest was organised without permission.
The demonstration, organised under the banner of Mumbai Against Suppression of Students (MASS), was held in solidarity with theSansad Chalo march led by the Cockroach Janta Party and activist Sonam Wangchuk in Delhi. Protesters demanded accountability over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Members of several student organisations participated, including the Students’ Federation of India, All India Students’ Federation, Aamchi Padhai Aamchi Ladai and other youth groups, carrying placards and raising slogans against the Centre. According to MASS, more than 500 people turned up for the protest, but police action prevented them from assembling at a single location.

“No permission was granted for supporters of PWP, CPI (M) and CJP at Chaityabhoomi. The process to register a case against the participants is underway at Shivaji Park police station,” a senior officer told PTI.
