Mahadev Betting App Co-Founder Ravi Uppal Arrested News – Days after the principal promoter of the Mahadev betting app, Saurabh Chandrakar, was extradited to India, authorities in Dubai have provisionally arrested the app’s co-promoter, Ravi Uppal. India has asked for Uppal’s extradition from Dubai authorities.

Sources told Times Now that law enforcement agencies have established his last known location in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Uppal had briefly left the UAE for the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. Efforts are being made to bring Ravi Uppal as early as possible.

Ravi Uppal had acquired Vanuatu citizenship, but his attempt to get his name removed from Interpol’s Red Notice was unsuccessful.

In January, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed an appeal filed by fugitive businessman Ravi Uppal before the Interpol Commission for the Control of Files (CCF), seeking the removal of his name from the Red Notice.

Meanwhile, in November 2025, the ED was informed that Ravi Uppal, one of the two promoters of the Mahadev App, was untraceable and could not be located in the UAE. It was suspected that Uppal had fled the UAE and acquired citizenship of Vanuatu.

In its reply to Interpol, the ED described Uppal as a fugitive and a wanted accused in a money laundering case involving alleged proceeds of crime worth around Rs 6,000 crore.

Ravi Uppal and Sourabh Chandrakar are the main accused and promoters of the Mahadev App. The Supreme Court has also asked the ED to trace Ravi Uppal.

Sourabh Chandrakar’s extradition
The CBI, in coordination with other central agencies, successfully secured Chandrakar’s extradition from Oman on Sunday. A CBI team specially deputed to Oman has escorted him back to India. Investigators are expected to question Chandrakar about the alleged payment of bribes and protection money to ensure that the betting app continued operating without facing action.
