  • August 1, 2026

Forget the usual fashion capitals. This weekend, it was Nowy Sącz, Poland, stealing the limelight as it hosted the 17th edition of Miss Supranational. The grand finale brought together 67 contestants from across the globe, all competing for one of pageantry’s most coveted crowns. In the end, Katrina Llegado of the Philippines was crowned Miss Supranational 2026, receiving the title from reigning queen Eduarda Braum of Brazil.

With Katrina’s 2026 victory, the Philippines joins India as the only two countries to have won the Miss Supranational crown more than once.

After advancing to the Top 5 alongside contestants from Brazil, the Czech Republic, France and Nigeria, Katrina, a military reservist in the Philippine Air Force, was asked during the interview round to reflect on the moment she stopped trying to become the woman the world expected and started becoming the woman she was meant to be.

“I’ve always believed that we should never fit into a mould. We are perfectly imperfect,” she said. “I am someone who struggles with perfection. I am here today doing my best and becoming the best version of myself.”

Eve Gilles of France was declared the first runner-up.

India’s Avni Gupta also had an impressive run at Miss Supranational 2026, securing a place in the Top 12. She made a strong impression throughout the competition, particularly during the National Costume segment. Designed by Amrin Khan, her ensemble paid tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage through a vibrant crimson lehenga crafted from raw silk and organza. Intricately embellished with cut dana, sequins and traditional zardozi embroidery, the look showcased the remarkable craftsmanship of Indian artisans.

For the grand finale, Avni stepped out in a custom creation in a rich merlot shade by designer Bhawna Rao, bringing contemporary glamour to the Miss Supranational stage while once again putting Indian design in the spotlight.

About Avni Gupta

The Agra-born auditor-turned-beauty queen was crowned Miss Diva Supranational 2025. Before stepping into the world of pageantry, she worked as an auditor at Deloitte, an experience she says shaped her resilience and discipline while balancing long workdays with evening pageant training.
As she previously said, “Balancing day-to-day audits with pageant preparation every evening wasn’t easy, but it taught me resilience, time management, and the confidence to bet on myself.”
