Kanye West and Kim Kardashian victims of wild hoax as ‘fake’ demand letter goes viral

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian became the victims of a wild hoax after a “fake” demand letter went viral.

On Friday, TMZ exclusively reported that West’s attorney had sent Kardashian’s attorney a letter demanding that she “cease and desist from actions that violate” his “parental rights, exploit his children and breach the joint custody agreement established” in the former couple’s divorce settlement, which was finalized in November 2022.

Hours later, however, a spokesperson for Yeezy poured scorn on the reporting, telling Page Six in an exclusive statement, “The letter is quite obviously fraudulent. TMZ didn’t ask for comment before running the story, and this morning, they finally emailed us with second thoughts, asking if it had been a ‘publicity stunt.’ No. You fell for a hoax.”

The fraudulent letter was sent from a lawyer in Spain named Kathy Johnson, who seemingly does not exist, to Los Angeles-based divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.

The letter noted that Kardashian, 44, brought her and West’s 11-year-old daughter, North, to Monday’s Met Gala, which exposed the preteen “to significant media attention.”

“Reports indicate that North was left unattended in a vehicle during portions of the event, posing risks to her safety,” the letter claimed, adding that Kardashian then “published or authorized the publication of North’s images and videos on social media platforms,” despite West’s “explicit objection to his children’s presence on such platforms.”

The letter reiterated that the Yeezy founder allegedly has been “denied meaningful access to his children,” once again claiming that he “has had no contact” with his son Saint, 9, “in 2025.”

Additionally, it claimed that his interactions with North, daughter Chicago, 7, and son Psalm, 6, “have been unreasonably restricted.”

The letter claimed that West wants the Skims co-founder to stop posting or authorizing the publication of photos and videos of the kids and remove all content that was uploaded without his authorization.

It also claimed that he wants her to stop involving the children in public events without his consent.

Lastly, it claimed that the Grammy winner wants “unimpeded access” to the brood, starting with “immediate in-person visitation.”

Should Kardashian not comply, the letter threatened that West would “seek sole legal and/or physical custody.”

Reps for the “Kardashians” star did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

However, sources close to her previously claimed to TMZ that she has never denied West access to the kids when he wants to see them — he just rarely asks to do so.

Last month, the musician publicly claimed that his “kids have been taken from” him, going on to allege that he hasn’t “seen Saint this year.”

However, Page Six obtained paparazzi photos of West with his three youngest children, including Saint, in January.

A day after West made his allegations, a source close to Kardashian claimed, “Kanye has been in LA recently for a few months and didn’t ask to see the kids aside from North until a week before he was leaving again.”
