Saquib Abdul Nachan, a key accused in the ISIS Delhi-Padgha module case, died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital, sources told Times Now. He had been shifted from Tihar Jail to the hospital a week ago following a medical emergency.
Nachan was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2023 for his alleged involvement in a large-scale ISIS conspiracy in India. According to the NIA, the module was actively engaged in radicalising youth, fundraising for the banned terror outfit, and fabricating explosives and IEDs for planned attacks.
The agency had earlier described Nachan as a “habitual offender in several past terror cases” and a self-styled Amir-e-Hind (leader of ISIS in India). It was revealed that the accused in the case had pledged allegiance (bayath) to Nachan and were coordinating closely with him.

In June last year, the NIA said it had seized explosive-making materials, digital evidence, and ISIS propaganda literature, including magazines such as Voice of Hind, Rumiyah, Khilafat, and Dabiq, during its investigation.
A chargesheet filed by the NIA in 2024 named 17 individuals, including Nachan, with most of the accused hailing from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The group was allegedly planning attacks aimed at disrupting India’s secular and democratic fabric, the agency had said.
