The Indian women’s recurve team, comprising Ankita Bhakat, Kirti and Kumkum Mohod, created history and won their first-ever Asian Games gold in the event after beating South Korea 5-3 in the final. The Indian Archers have delivered a stunning performance at the Asian Games. This was India’s 11th gold at the Asian Games 2026, and the fourth in Archery, the best among all sports. India’s Asian Games medal tally also rose to 67, with 23 silvers and 66 bronze medals.

The final against South Korea was a tense battle from the start. The opening set ended 54-54, leaving both teams level at 1-1. The second set was equally close, with Korea and India again finishing on 56 points each to make it 2-2. India then produced their best archery of the contest in the third set. South Korea struggled under pressure, with three consecutive 8s leaving them on 52. India scored 55 to take the set and move 4-2 ahead.
