India and China held talks regarding their ongoing border dispute, said the Chinese defence ministry on Wednesday. In a press briefing, the Chinese side stated that both militaries held “active and in-depth communication” regarding the control and management along the western section of the border.

“Both sides agreed to continue to maintain communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels,” the Chinese defence ministry was quoted as saying by Reuters.

As per MEA, the remarks from the Chinese side come after the 23rd round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point

“Both sides agreed to continue to use existing mechanisms to resolve any ground issues along the border to maintain stability,” read the official statement issued by the MEA.

Thaw in India-China ties
These fresh talks between India and China come amid a thaw in ties, which had been strained for five years following the clash in Galwan between the two security forces.
