Even seasoned investors have their off days and Aman Gupta is candid enough to admit it. The Shark Tank India judge recently opened up about a missed investment opportunity and even shared how he once showed up to shoot an episode while dealing with a hangover.

Gupta, who has been part of Shark Tank India since its debut season and has backed over 150 startups on the show, revealed that one of his biggest regrets was not investing in the food brand The Health Factory during Season 2.

Speaking in an interview, he said that none of the sharks chose to invest in the company at the time, even though it has since grown significantly. The brand, founded by Vinay Maheshwari and Mohit Sankhala, had pitched for Rs 75 lakh in exchange for 2.1% equity, valuing the company at Rs 35.71 crore. According to Gupta, the business is now generating revenues of Rs 20–30 crore per month.

During the pitch, fellow judge Peyush Bansal had remarked, “I am sure we will repent this decision” to which Gupta responded, “I hope we do.”

The episode also featured other sharks including Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, and Anupam Mittal.

Gupta also spoke about his on-screen persona and how his candid style sometimes draws attention. Reflecting on feedback from the channel, he said, “Sometimes I say whatever comes to my mind. One day, I was angry and I spoke in a Delhi-like fashion, ‘Abe tu karta kya hai? Pata bhi hai kya baat kar raha hai? (What are you doing? Do you even know what you are saying?)’ Sony kept it and people were like, ‘Why is he using such language?’”

He further acknowledged that every judge has their own style, referencing former shark Ashneer Grover, and admitted that he too has had difficult days on set.
