A Bengaluru-based interior designer has alleged that Rapido abandoned her after a horrific bike taxi accident left her with life-threatening injuries and medical expenses exceeding Rs 20 lakh.
Sani Krishna, a 32-year-old interior designer from Kerala, shared her story in a viral video, revealing how what began as a routine commute to work on June 17 turned into a life-altering tragedy after the Rapido bike she had booked crashed near Bagmane Tech Park.
According to Sani, she had booked a morning ride from her residence in Byrasandra to her office in Domlur. Less than a kilometre into the journey, she claimed the Rapido rider attempted to recklessly overtake a tractor, causing the motorcycle to lose control. She alleged that the impact threw her onto the road before the tractor ran over her, leaving her critically injured.
She was initially rushed to a nearby hospital before being shifted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, where she underwent multiple surgeries. She was later transferred to Mithras Hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala, for further treatment and rehabilitation.
The accident resulted in severe injuries, including multiple fractured ribs, a broken shoulder, extensive facial trauma that required plastic surgery, serious liver damage, a collapsed lung, and injuries that led to the removal of her spleen through an emergency splenectomy. More than two weeks after the crash, Sani said she remains bedridden and is also undergoing therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
According to Sani, her medical expenses have already crossed Rs 20 lakh. However, her cousin, Adwaith P, claimed that the family’s total expenditure on treatment has already exceeded Rs 25 lakh and is expected to increase further as her recovery continues.
In a video shared on Instagram that has since gone viral, Sani accused Rapido of failing to stand by her despite aggressively promoting its women’s safety features.
“Rapido spends millions marketing their women’s safety feature. On June 17th, I trusted them for my morning commute. Instead, I was crushed under a tractor and they abandoned me.
I broke nine ribs and the spleen has been removed. My teeth has gone and I have done plastic surgery on my face to look like this. And my hospital bill has already been crossed 20 lakhs.
We sent Rapido a legal notice hoping that they would respond to it. Instead, they ignored it and kept directing us to an insurance process through automated emails. Then I started reading comments on my post that I posted on Instagram.
Then I understood that I was not alone. So many people have shared their experience and said they also struggled to get support from them. Not even support.
Rapido Safety Guarantee is a marketing lie and I am taking them to consumer court. They can no longer treat our lives as collateral damage. Please share this video and tag Rapido and authorities to help me hold them accountable.

Following the growing attention surrounding the case on social media, Rapido issued a statement saying it was in touch with the victim’s family.
“We have been in touch with the family and will continue to stay closely connected to ensure they receive all the support and assistance we are able to provide,” the company said.
However, Sani’s family maintains that no concrete financial assistance or compensation has been offered so far.
