In his X post, he wrote, “we have asked the police to drop us where they picked us up from.” This comes after massive outrage on the internet following Ranka’s detention, which the CJP claimed was illegal.
The illegal detention by Assam Police has finally ended.
We have asked Police to go and drop us from where we were picked up illegally in the first place 😎.
I will address the Press at Chaudhary Tila, Opp Secretariat, from where we were picked up.

The CJP on Sunday alleged that Assam Police detained Ranka and several other party volunteers ahead of the outfit’s first regional volunteers’ meeting in Assam’s Guwahati, triggering sharp reactions from CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke and Saurav Das.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that Ranka was picked up by Assam Police from a private residence and claimed that the party leader had not been informed about the charges or grounds for his detention. “Ashu was picked up by Assam Police from a private residence. They have still not been told under what charges or on what grounds he has been detained,” Dipke wrote in a post on social media.
Dipke further said that if Ranka is not released, he would travel to Assam along with other CJP members. “If Ashu is not released, I will go to Assam along with other CJP members. Himanta can arrest us all,” he said, referring to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Following Ranka’s release, Dipke took to X once again. But this time in a sarcastic tone, to mock the incident.
He wrote, “I was looking forward to joining your protest at the Police Station.”
