Gunfight erupts in J&K’s Rajouri, 4 terrorists likely trapped

Four terrorists are believed to be trapped during a gunbattle with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The gunfight was triggered after terrorists fired upon a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG).

Four terrorists are believed to be trapped during a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri on Tuesday. The encounter began when terrorists opened fire on a team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), a counter-terrorism unit.

The incident occurred around 7:20 pm when the sound of 10-15 shots being fired in the Beeranthub area were heard. When the SOG unit was conducting a search operation in the area, terrorists opened fire on them. Following this, security forces returned fire.

Additional forces are being rushed to the area as it is snow-covered. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties.
