FOOTBALL SHOCK Netflix star coach rushed to hospital after being shot on football field as college is locked down

A NETFLIX star football coach has reportedly been shot on the Laney College campus.

The Oakland Fire Department confirmed that a man is being treated for a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital.

According to ABC7 News, the gunshot victim was Laney College Athletic Director John Beam.

The 66-year-old was reportedly shot near the school’s football field.

It is understood to have occurred in, or near, the fieldhouse.

The Oakland Fire Department has not released any information about Beam’s condition.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported he was alive when he was transferred to hospital.

Before becoming athletic director at Laney College, Beam was the football coach at the school.

He retired from his coaching duties at the end of last season.

The Laney College Eagles featured on the hit Netflix show Last Chance U while Beam was coaching.

Fans of Beam and Laney College football were devastated to hear of the shooting and shared their prayers on social media.

“Praying for John Beam and the entire Laney College community,” one fan said.

“Prayers out to Coach John Beam and Laney College,” another fan said.

The Laney College campus was placed on lockdown, but it has since been lifted.
