Normalcy is gradually returning to Leh following the September 24 violence that left four people dead and scores injured.
The curfew was imposed on the evening of September 24 and relaxation periods were gradually extended over the days as the situation in the town has remained by and large peaceful.
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the September 24 violence and the officials have been asked to conclude the inquiry within four weeks. The inquiry was ordered by the Leh deputy commissioner, who appointed Sub Divisional Magistrate Nubra Mukul Beniwal as inquiry officer.
Beniwal, in a public notice, said the inquiry committee is charged with ascertaining facts and circumstances that led to the serious law and order situation, police action, and death of four people.
