The Pentagon confirmed three US military deaths over the weekend, including two at a military base in Jordan and one in northern Iraq.
US President Donald Trump on Monday warned Iran of strong retaliation after three American service members were killed over the weekend, saying the country would pay “many times over” for the deaths.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!”
He added that he had issued instructions to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and senior military leaders.
“This directive has been passed on to Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Daniel Caine, and every Leader in the Military,” Trump said.
