‘Don’t Let My Son’s Case Become Another File’: Ketan Agarwal’s Father Appeals To President Murmu

  • July 10, 2026

Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Ketan’s father urged authorities to ensure that the case is heard in a fast-track court and that those found guilty receive the strictest punishment.

Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Ketan’s father urged authorities to ensure that the case is heard in a fast-track court and that those found guilty receive the strictest punishment allowed under the law.

Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: The father of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered at Lohagad Fort last month, has written to President Droupadi Murmu, seeking a fast-tracked investigation and speedy justice for his son.

In an emotional email sent to the secretary to the president on Wednesday, Vishal Agarwal said his family had been devastated not only by Ketan’s death but also by the loss of his own father just 20 days later.

Vishal said Ketan’s grandfather could not cope with the grief of losing his grandson. His health deteriorated, his blood pressure dropped and he eventually died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

“I am writing this email with a heart full of pain and hope. I am not writing as a businessman or someone with influence. Main sirf ek baap hoon, jo apne bete ke liye insaaf maang raha hai (I am writing as a father seeking justice for his son),” he wrote.

‘Every Night, We Sleep With The Same Question’

Describing the pain his family has endured since Ketan’s death, Vishal said their lives had completely changed.

“My son Ketan was brutally murdered. Since that day, our lives have completely changed. Every morning we wake up with the same pain, and every night we sleep with the same question: When will Ketan get justice?” he wrote.

Vishal said the family’s suffering deepened when his father died within just 20 days of Ketan’s death.

“He loved his grandson more than anything. He could not bear the shock and grief of Ketan’s death. His blood pressure dropped, and eventually his heart stopped working. In just 20 days, I lost both my son and my father. Our family has been shattered,” he said.

Father Seeks Fast-Track Trial And Strictest Punishment

Vishal urged authorities to ensure that the case is heard in a fast-track court and that those found guilty receive the strictest punishment allowed under the law.

He stressed that the family was not asking for special treatment but only wanted justice without unnecessary delays.

“Delay in justice only increases the pain of families like ours,” he said.

Vishal added that while Ketan could never return, those responsible for his death should not be allowed to believe they could escape or delay the consequences of the crime.

“A strong punishment will not only give us some peace, but it will also send a message that innocent lives matter and that such crimes will never be tolerated,” he wrote.

Concluding his appeal, the grieving father urged the President to personally look into the matter and help ensure speedy justice.

“Please don’t let my son’s case become just another file. Behind this case is a family that has lost everything,” he wrote.

What Is The Ketan Agarwal Murder Case?

Ketan Agarwal, a 26-year-old Pune-based realtor, died after falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. What was initially believed to be a trekking accident later turned into a murder investigation.

Police allege that Ketan’s fiancee, Siya Goyal, and her friend and suspected lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, conspired to kill him and pushed him into a gorge. Both were subsequently arrested and booked on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy.

According to investigators, Siya had initially told Ketan’s family that he had slipped during the trek. However, CCTV footage and other evidence reportedly raised suspicions about the presence of another person at the fort, eventually leading police to Chetan.

Police have alleged that the murder was planned in advance. Investigators suspect that Siya and Chetan met at a café hours before Ketan’s death to discuss the plan. Police have also claimed that the accused conducted online searches related to murder methods and rehearsed how Ketan could be pushed.

What Has Happened In The Investigation So Far?

As part of the investigation, police took both accused to Lohagad Fort to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to Ketan’s death. Investigators also used a dummy matching Ketan’s weight during the crime scene reconstruction and conducted a gait analysis of Chetan.

Police also seized Chetan’s two-wheeler, which he allegedly used to travel nearly 90 km to Lohagad Fort. Investigators suspect he chose a scooter instead of a car to avoid leaving a trail at toll plazas. A hoodie and headphones were also recovered during the probe.

Investigators have recovered data from three mobile phones seized from the accused and are examining digital evidence, witness statements and alleged secret conversations involving codewords, nicknames and emojis.
