Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka on Friday called for the dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and a wider probe into examination paper leaks following reports that the CBI has filed a chargesheet in the NEET-UG 2026 case.
Reacting to the development, Ranka said the chargesheet allegedly involves several NTA officials and argued that the agency needs a structural overhaul. “I just came to know that CBI has filed a charge sheet in the NEET 2026 case which involves a lot of NTA officers,” Ranka said.
He demanded that the NTA be dissolved and replaced with a National Technical Testing Commission with permanent staff and stronger auditing mechanisms for every examination it conducts.
The CJP spokesperson further argued that the issue goes beyond the functioning of the NTA and reflects wider structural problems within India’s examination system, stating, “It is imperative that the government takes steps to solve these structural issues that are plaguing the systems of this country, not just NTA but the entire exam system,” Ranka said.
He also called for an audit of examination infrastructure and private vendors involved in conducting exams, stressing the need for stronger safeguards to prevent future paper leaks.
“The vendors have to be audited properly and it has to be made sure that the country doesn’t see any more paper leaks,” the CJP spokesperson said.
