Delhi-bound bus overturns in Uttarakhand, killing 2 scooter riders and injuring 11

A Delhi-bound passenger bus overturned near Bhadrakali bend in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand killing two scooter riders. Eleven injured passengers are being treated, police and medical teams continue rescue operations.

Two people riding a scooter were killed after a passenger bus lost control and overturned near the Bhadrakali bend in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district on Friday. Eleven bus passengers were injured and are undergoing treatment at SPS Hospital.

BUS EN ROUTE TO DELHI OVERTURNS

The bus, bearing an Rajasthan registration number, was heading to Delhi when it lost control on a slope near the Bhadrakali bend, Rishikesh and overturned.

There were around 60 passengers on board. While the passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident, the two scooter riders travelling along the roadside were struck by the bus and became trapped beneath it.

Both scooter riders suffered critical injuries and were rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). They were taken to hospital by ambulance, where they died.
