An Indian vlogger’s video from Japan’s Nagoro village — known for having dolls instead of real residents — has gone viral. The eerie clip shows life-sized figures posed as if going to school, working, or socialising, making the village feel like a “ghost town.” Netizens reacted with a mix of fascination and unease, calling the place both ”weird and creepy.”

An Indian travel vlogger visited what he described as Japan’s “weirdest and scariest” village — a place with “no real people.” The village, known as the famous Nagoro, has gained attention as a “weird” destination where everything appears real but isn’t. Instead of people, life-sized dolls occupy the village, positioned to act like humans. While many travellers have shared their experiences of visiting Nagoro, this Indian vlogger’s video documenting his visit has now gone viral on social media.
The video was posted on Instagram by an account identified as On Road Indian. In it, the vlogger explores the village, showing that there are no actual residents — only dolls. The dolls are placed to look as if they are going to school, talking to each other, playing, fishing, sleeping, and performing everyday human activities, which the vlogger found extremely eerie. He shared that the atmosphere felt like being in a “ghost village.” He even filmed himself waking up at 3 a.m. to explore the area again, describing the experience as even scarier at night.

In the video, he says: “Japan ka scariest and most weird village. No real people are here, school ma koi bacche nahi padte, gharon ma koi insaan nahi rehta bas hai toh kewal darawane putle. Yeh school hai, yaha fake chaple hain bahar jo aisa dikhaya hai kee koi utaar ke gaya hai unko andar. Aur fir andar jaakar har cheez ke putle hai, bacche unke parents wo saare putle hain. Main keh raha hun raat ma inme se ek bhi putla jag gaya toh mereko heart attack aa jayega. Nobody is here, bhoot ka sheher hai yeh toh.” (“Japan’s scariest and most weird village. There are no real people here — no children studying in schools, no humans living in houses, only creepy dolls. This is a school; outside there are fake slippers placed to make it look like someone took them off before going inside. But once you enter, everything is just dolls — children, their parents, everyone is a doll. I’m telling you, if even one of these dolls came to life at night, I would get a heart attack. Nobody is here, it’s a ghost town.”)
