Asian Games 2026 Full India Results Day 8: Kabaddi brought India two gold medals while Tajinderpal Singh Toor won silver in men’s shot put event.
Day 8 at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games turned out to be India’s best showing yet, with six medals clinched — including two gold. India started the day with a historic silver in the men’s marathon, where Sawan Barwal ended the nation’s 44-year wait for a medal in the discipline. That was followed by India’s 11th medal in shooting, a silver in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions.
The gold came in women’s kabaddi, where India survived a scare against Iran to retain their title. A few hours later, the men’s team clinched a gold in kabaddi after beating Iran 40-34. Tajinderpal Singh Toor then brought a silver in men’s shot put after finishing second in the final.
Squash also delivered three more medals. Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar secured mixed doubles bronze, while Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh stormed into their respective singles finals, ensuring at least two more silver medals.

Nandhini Kongan in women’s 100m hurdles heats – Qualified for semi-finals.
Harita Bhadra and Unnathi Bollanda both qualified for the final from the women’s 200m heats.
Vishal TK finishes fifth in the men’s 400m final
Jyothi Yarraji DID NOT START in women’s 100m hurdles heats.
Animesh Kujur finished top of men’s 200m heat 5 and qualified for the semifinal.
Karthik Unnikrishnan finished sixth in the men’s triple jump final. Praveen Chitravel was out injured.
