Anu Aggarwal’s BIG REVELATION About Bollywood And Dawood Ibrahim’s Connection: All The Money…

Anu Aggarwal, best remembered for her iconic debut in the 1990 blockbuster Aashiqui, has made a startling revelation about Bollywood’s dark connection with the underworld during the ’90s. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about how several films back then were funded through illicit means.

Anu Aggarwal talks about Bollywood’s underworld ties

In a chat with Pinkvilla, Anu said, “It was a dirty business. I don’t know how dirty it is today,” Anu said, as she recalled the shadowy dealings behind the scenes of the industry in that era. “At that time, it was all under-the-table deals. It was ruled by people like Dawood Ibrahim. All the money that was coming into the film industry came from the underworld. It was a completely different scenario,” she added.
Anu, who walked away from stardom at the peak of her career, clarified that her exit from films wasn’t due to disillusionment. “I didn’t leave because of negativity or disappointment. I left because I had achieved everything already and wanted to focus more on personal growth,” she shared.

The former actress also opened up about the price of fame. She likened the fan frenzy around her to what superstar Shah Rukh Khan experiences today. “For me to walk around alone and live alone at that time… I had fans standing under my building. Luckily, it was an MLA-MP building, so we had police protection. It was madness,” she said.
