Taking to social media, a man shared how he was left majorly “disheartened” after witnessing the “devastating” condition of the Andaman Islands. He shared multiple videos and photos, which showed the heavily littered islands. Most pictures had plastic and glass bottles just lying around on the roadside. As per the man, he had made the same trip four years ago as well; however, the reason one, in particular, left him broken.
He highlighted how the place is “known for pristine beauty”, due to which it “deserves so much better” than what is actually happening. The video went viral in an instant, leaving many reacting. Most agreed with the man and shared similar stories and experiences, while some tagged the authorities and asked them to take action. Netizens also blamed the “lack of civic sense” behind such a condition.

“We humans are garbage dumps. Where we go, we trash the place. Pathetic condition. No blooming civic sense,” a user said. “Andman is the cleanest place . I had also visited there one year ago,” commented another.
“Here it is similar. People cannot afford waste fees so they dump truckloads into the forest. Then volunteers come with dump trucks and backhoes and clean it up. Civilizations (towns, cities) should make waste control easy,” added another.
