The NTA chief, Abhishek Singh, said the Indian Air Force will transport NEET question papers for the June 21 exam. Authorities were told to tighten security and counter misinformation after the paper leak fiasco led to the cancellation of previous examination which affected over 22 lakh students.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will enlist the Indian Air Force (IAF) to transport NEET question papers for the June 21 medical entrance exam, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said on Saturday, as authorities tighten security following the paper leak controversy that forced the cancellation of the earlier examination.
Singh made the announcement while virtually attending a meeting chaired by Telangana Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao to review arrangements for the examination.
According to a state government release, Singh said enhanced security protocols are being implemented for the examination. He said that, for the first time, the Indian Air Force is being engaged to transport question papers, reflecting the importance being accorded to maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Rao directed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination. He asked district authorities to work in close coordination with all concerned departments and ensure that candidates are provided a hassle-free environment on the examination day.
State Principal Secretary (Health) Christina Z Chongthu said around 73,000 students are expected to appear for the NEET examination across 208 examination centres in 24 cities in Telangana.
She said authorities are making necessary arrangements related to infrastructure, transportation, security, power supply, drinking water and other essential facilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
