Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public address in Rajasthan’s Bikaner, addressed the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. He emphasised India’s swift response, claiming that nine major terror hideouts were destroyed in just 22 minutes as part of Operation Sindoor.

In a resolute address from Rajasthan’s Bikaner, a month after the barbaric April 22 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that “in response to the attack on April 22, we destroyed nine biggest terror hideouts in 22 minutes.” The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, prompted immediate action under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
“Rajasthan teaches us that nothing is more important than the nation. On 22nd April, terrorists targeted our people, asking their religion and wiped the sindoor of our sisters. The bullets fired in Pahalgam wounded the hearts of 140 crore Indians. In response, the entire nation vowed to punish the terrorists in a way they could never imagine,” the Prime Minister said.
“With the valour of our armed forces, Pakistan was forced to bow. In reply to the 22nd April attack, within just 22 minutes, terrorist camps were destroyed. The country witnessed that when the sindoor of our sisters is targeted, the response can shake the enemy to its core,” he added.

The Prime Minister further stated that those out to wipe out ‘sindoor’ were reduced to dust. “On April 22, terrorists wiped off the Sindoor of our sisters after identifying their religion. The attack took place in Pahalgam, but the bullets pierced the hearts of 1.4 billion Indians. United in one voice, every Indian resolved to eliminate terrorism and ensure punishment beyond imagination. It is due to the courage of the Indian Armed Forces that we stand strong today. Our government gave a free hand to all three services, and together, the tri-services devised a strategy so impactful that it compelled Pakistan to bow down,” he added.
Notably, the Prime Minister is scheduled to launch a number of development projects across railways, roadways, power, water and new and renewable energy sectors during his visit to Bikaner in Rajasthan today.
An official statement said PM Modi will also inaugurate 103 redeveloped ‘Amrit Stations’ in 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories, which have been built at a cost of Rs 1,100 crore, besides launching other development projects costing over Rs 26,000 crore.
