Yo Yo Honey Singh Meets Tarun Chugh in Amritsar for Dr*g-Free Punjab Campaign, Calls Drugs “Destroying Our Youth”
Popular Punjabi rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh recently met BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh in Amritsar to discuss the growing drug crisis in Punjab and to support the ongoing “Drug-Free Punjab” campaign. The meeting focused on raising awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse on the youth and encouraging them to move away from addiction.
During the interaction, both Honey Singh and Tarun Chugh expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in the state, stating that drugs are destroying families and the future of young people. Honey Singh stressed that Punjab’s identity should be associated with its rich cultural and agricultural heritage rather than substance abuse. He said, “Punjab must be saved from this,” highlighting the urgency of the issue.
Chugh praised Honey Singh’s personal journey, noting his past struggles with addiction and his successful comeback as an inspiration for the youth. He said that the rapper’s life story could motivate young people battling similar problems to rebuild their lives. He also referred to Honey Singh as a “son of Punjab,” emphasizing his influence among the younger generation.
Honey Singh, in his appeal, urged youngsters to stay away from intoxicants and adopt a healthier lifestyle. He reminded them that drugs were harming families and destroying lives across Punjab. He further encouraged them to reconnect with traditional values and lifestyle choices, stating that Punjab is known for “milk, curd and ghee, not drugs.”
