Amid his ongoing Aura tour across North America, the actor-singer sat down for a chat on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Dosanjh celebrated Indian music and also encouraged the talk show host to participate in Bhangra. The episode premiered at 9:15 AM IST on April 28. During the episode, Diljit was asked about his iconic Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye phrase that he uses frequently. Revealing the meaning and significance behind that phrase, the singer-actor received the loudest cheer from the audience.

In a viral clip from the episode, Diljit was asked about saying, ‘Main Hoon Punjab’. Jimmy’s attempt at saying it was successful. When the Amar Singh Chamkila star explained the meaning, Fallon also wanted to know the significance of ‘Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye’. When Diljit said it, a loud cheer erupted in the room.

Diljit Dosanjh returns to The Tonight Show
Diljit was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2024 as well. He was fresh from his Coachella performance. In a behind-the-scenes video, he taught the host to pronounce ‘Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye’ and ‘Sat Sri Akal’. Jimmy impressed the Lover singer with the perfect pronunciation of Sat Sri Akal. Dosanjh was in his signature Punjabi attire complete with a turban. The episode also featured him and Jimmy engaging in a glove swap. Fallon presented Diljit with a specially customised glove adorned with The Tonight Show’s iconic logo.
During his latest appearance on The Tonight Show, Diljit was seen dancing to his song while teaching Bhangra to Jimmy. They teased the episode by sharing the behind-the-scenes video on Instagram. This time, Diljit ditched his traditional outfit for an all-black semi-formal outfit. During his performance, he was dressed in his signature style.

Before The Tonight Show in 2024, he performed at Coachella as the first Punjabi singer to take over the global stage. This year, Diljit’s AURA World Tour 2026 kicked off in North America on April 23, 2026, at BC Place in Vancouver. He will be performing in Canada and the U.S. through June 20, 2026, including Toronto, Calgary, and Chicago.
