Tara Sutaria, who is attending the Cannes Film Festival, recently opened up about her experience working on Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups. She praised director Geetu Mohandas and also shared her thoughts on the film’s delayed release and ongoing anticipation.
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, starring South star Yash, is one of the most awaited films of the year. It was initially slated to release in theatres on the same day as Dhurandhar 2 aka Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which would have resulted in a major box office clash. However, amid the Iran-US-Israel war, the Geetu Mohandas directorial was postponed. In another surprising update, the film was once again pushed from its June release as the makers needed more time to turn it into a global cinematic spectacle. Tara Sutaria, who plays a key role in the film, recently opened up about the delay during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival.
Tara Sutaria Reacts To Toxic Delay
Speaking about the film’s release date, Tara told The Hollywood Reporter that she is a patient person and believes in looking at the bigger picture instead of worrying about delays.
She explained that actors cannot treat a film as their personal property because it belongs to everyone involved in creating it. She added that her responsibility was to perform as an artist, while producers and directors handled the larger decisions.
Tara concluded by saying that the film is going to be worth the wait.

The Heropanti 2 actress also shared her experience working with Yash and Geetu. Calling it deeply satisfying and fulfilling, she said that she wanted to work on sets that felt positive and were led with honesty, purpose, and clear intention. And, she found all those qualities while working with the duo. Tara also mentioned that working under a female director like Geetu was a refreshing experience and brought a completely different atmosphere to the set.
Talking about her character Rebecca, she said the role was fascinating and added that all the women in the film were powerful, fearless, and interesting. She described Toxic as an ensemble film filled with strong personalities and said that the film’s visual style and fashion are unexpected for Indian audiences as well as viewers globally.
